Purpose of this role:
The Volunteer Digital Inclusion role is to bridge the digital divide by providing individuals with the necessary skills, knowledge, and access to digital technologies. This role is vital in ensuring that members of the community can benefit from the opportunities and resources available in the digital age, thereby promoting social inclusion. This plays a crucial role in empowering individuals to navigate the digital world confidently and competently. It also promotes a long-term digital literacy and inclusion of individuals, and highlights its significance in ensuring that all community members have the opportunity to engage and succeed in the current digital age.

We aim to assist with transition into civilian life, integration into the civilian community, re- training and education and matters concerning mental health, resilience and wellbeing. Veterans are encouraged to get in touch about all of our volunteer roles and opportunities.
What you will be doing:
- Providing basic digital support and assistance to vulnerable adults.
- Supporting or guiding vulnerable adults to become more digitally fluent using social Apps such as Facebook, Emails, WhatsApp’s…
- Making face-to-face and digital contact with vulnerable adults to support them in attending digital workshops.
- Involve with Social Media platform of TMR.
Experience:
- An ability to communicate clearly and sensitively with vulnerable adults.
- Experience of engaging with older people in the community.
Time and Place:
- Monday to Friday (flexible).
- Flexible 2 hours per week.
- Hours to suit volunteer
- Remote / office
- TMR Office, 2nd floor, Butetown Community Centre, Butetown, Cardiff CF10 5JA.
How we will support you:
- Taking part of TMR’s face to face training programme.
- One-to-one supervision.
- Develop skills in communicating with people from different backgrounds.
- Running social activities and events.
- Personal and career development planning.
- Travel expenses reimbursed.
- DBS check required
