Volunteer – Event Organiser, South Wales, Cardiff
Purpose of the Role
The Volunteer Event organiser role is to plan, organise, and execute events that support the organisation’s mission and objectives. This role is essential in creating impactful and engaging events that raise awareness and foster community engagement. An Event organiser play’s a pivotal role in ensuring the success of the organisation’s events, which are essential for fundraising, awareness, and community building. Their work ensures that events run smoothly and effectively, making a significant impact on the organisation’s ability to achieve its goals and support its beneficiaries.

We aim to assist with transition into civilian life, integration into the civilian community, re- training and education and matters concerning mental health, resilience and wellbeing. Veterans are encouraged to get in touch about all of our volunteer roles and opportunities.
What you will be doing:
- To support the community events and activities, liaising with community leads, attending relevant meetings, collating information.
- To give relevant input in meetings, making informed decisions on logistics such as venues, stage set up, dates, times, invitees and catering.
- To ensure progress and updates are fed back to The Mentor Ring.
- Creating marketing materials and giving input on publicity for the event and distributing materials through the appropriate channels including Social Media.
- To contribute to any post-event evaluation, outlining successes and any lessons learned for improvement.
Experience:
- Experience of working with ethnic minority communities (optional).
- Good communication skills
- Self- Motivated and Good Interpersonal Skills
- Creative
- Outgoing
How we will support you:
- Volunteers are given an induction upon beginning their role.
- Training is given for this role.
- Expenses are fully reimbursed on a monthly basis.
- DBS Check.
Time and Place:
- Monday to Friday – Flexible
- Flexible 2 hours per week.
- Hours to suit volunteer
- Remote / office
- TMR Office, 2nd floor, Butetown Community Centre, Butetown, Cardiff CF10 5JA
