Engage Them Young

The purpose of these sessions is to get young people more involved in the community, reduce social isolation, learn through play and creative means. We want to encourage skills that are not normally taught academically, such as soft skills, leadership qualities, creativity and confidence through team building, and activities that promote community cohesion.

The Summer Playscheme had commenced during the first week of August, Monday 4th – Friday 8th August 2025,  10.00 am – 1.00 pm ground floor at the Butetown Community Centre, Butetown, Cardiff, CF10 5JA.

Open to children of all backgrounds, the playscheme provided a safe, welcoming space packed with games, creative workshops, outdoor play, and themed activities that kept young minds active and engaged during the summer holidays.

It was a week of fun, creativity, and adventure. Designed for children to enjoy their summer holidays in a safe and supportive environment, the playscheme featured a variety of exciting activities including arts and crafts, games, sports, themed days, and more. It was a fantastic opportunity for young people to make new friends, learn new skills, and create lasting summer memories.
