Sewing Workshop Classes in Erith, England
The Sewing classes were launched in Erith in January 2026 with support from The National Lottery Community Fund and have now moved to a new venue at Slade Green & Howbury Community Centre and Library, running from 10:00am–12:00pm. Our sewing classes are there to learn new skills, share ideas, and enjoy a creative and social experience. The sewing workshops are a great way to learn practical skills, boost confidence, and connect with others in the community. All abilities are welcome—just bring your enthusiasm and enjoy sewing together.
The project was created to help participants develop practical sewing skills, build confidence, and enjoy a friendly, welcoming environment where community members can learn and connect. Since the programme began, sessions have been well attended, with participants showing clear progress, growing enthusiasm, and increasing creativity.
Funding made it possible to purchase essential equipment and materials, ensuring the classes remain accessible and inclusive for everyone. Overall, the initiative has made a positive difference to those involved and has played an important role in strengthening community engagement.
